In this part of Eastern Canada, lupins grow wild through the local fields. Certain areas are awash in these spiky perennials with a wave of deep blue, mauve, pinks, whites. Although its interesting to note they are not found in hayfields as the plant is toxic to cattle and grow best in lower quality soil so they abound in the ditches and fields not used for livestock.
